Eligibility Criteria & Age Limits
- Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for appearing in the JEE (Main) examination. Candidates who have passed the class 12 / equivalent examination or are appearing in the qualifying year are eligible.
- Qualifying Examination: Passed 10+2 (Intermediate) or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics, and one of Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational subject.
- Passing Year Requirement: Candidates who cleared their 10+2 examination in 2025, 2026, or appearing in 2027 are eligible to sit for JEE Main 2027.
- State of Eligibility: Determined by the state code from where the candidate passed the Class 12 examination, regardless of domicile or origin.

Marking Scheme: +4 marks for each correct answer; -1 mark deducted for each incorrect response (applicable to both Section A and Section B). Duration of the test is 3 hours (180 minutes).
How to Fill NTA JEE Main 2027 Application Form
- Visit the official NTA JEE portal at
jeemain.nta.nic.in. - Click on "New Candidate Registration" and authenticate using Aadhaar Card, APAAR/ABC ID, DigiLocker, or Passport.
- Fill in your basic personal profile, contact information, and create your application password.
- Log in using your generated Application Number and Password.
- Provide academic credentials (Class 10 and Class 12 board roll number, passing year, institute details).
- Select test center preferences and the paper choice (Paper 1 for B.Tech, Paper 2A for B.Arch, Paper 2B for B.Plan).
- Upload scanned passport photograph (10 KB to 200 KB) and signature (4 KB to 30 KB) strictly as per NTA specifications.
- Pay the application fee online through the payment gateway and download the Confirmation Page for future reference.
